February Firefight Round II

The Setup:

Most of Team BOFA works together at CitiStreet, a joint venture of CitiGroup and State Street Bank and Trust.

Recently, Team BOFA discovered that another group of paintballers works in the building. After a storm of fevered e-mail went back and forth, a game was set up for 8/17/2003. It was to be the "August Citi Rumble".

Surprise!
Thunder Pig did not know that the game had been set up for that Sunday. He was forced to miss the Team BOFA game prior to the August Citi Rumble, so he was moping around work, moaning and complaining about how long it had been since he played.

When Team BOFA showed up at his front door Sunday morning with gassed-up markers, he almost crapped his pants. Nobody had paint in their gun, but TP still squealed like a little girl when all those autos opened up firing dry...
Getting ready for battle...
Here you see Minuteman and Xtremo getting their gear on and sizing up the opposition.
The games were competitive!
For the first game of the day the visiting team deployed to the field, and Team BOFA went hunting for them.

Here you see Thunderpig maneuvering closer to an opposing player. After spotting a hidden defender, Thunderpig make a quick move up, and bagged the first kill of the day.

However, vengeance was swift: TP got whacked just a minute later by a well-concealed member of the other team.
The battle rages on...
Here is a pic of Fuzzy hunkered down, trying to identify the source of some enemy fire.

Game one got ugly real quick. The Team BOFA game plan was to split into two elements and sweep into the enemy zone from different angles.Thunder Pig and Xtremo each bagged kills early, but were eliminated themselves. That left Minuteman as the sole survivor from that element.

The other element, manned by Spiked, Fuzzy and Jason (#2) had some problems finding a good angle of attack, and ended up getting picked off without killing anyone.

Minuteman did some "scoot and shoot" right up to the bitter end, managing to bag one of the remaining enemy players. After a long running battle he was finally cornered and taken out himself.

No two ways about it, the visiting team owned Game One.
The Visitors were a strong group.
The team that came to our field was geared up pretty well. All of them were using Tippman 98 Custom Markers, except for one player who was running with a Tippman A-5.

Their team members were camoflauged pretty well, and each of them had at least a little experience playing woodsball. Team BOFA was really impressed with their movement and communication, which were outstanding.

The next pic is Martin, who moves very well for a big man.
Wrapup:
The Day was fun, the games were competitive, and everybody had a great time.

Team BOFA will be hosting an open event on 8/30/2003. We expect our Citi Rumble pals to be there, as well as plenty of other players.
